Hello – my name is Chris Stahnke. I am the newest member in the firm, but I came to the firm with great experience and hopes for a long and successful career. I attended and graduated from the University of Washington in 2002, and after a couple of years enrolled in Seattle University School of Law, graduating in 2007.

After graduation I sought out and obtained trial experience, first with the Snohomish County Public Defender Association, and then with the King County Prosecuting Attorneys office as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney working in the District Court Unit and the Drug Diversion Court. If you have a traffic, DUI, or criminal case, I am probably the guy that you want to see.

Although I have extensive experience handling all of the various aspects of criminal law, I am working for a firm that has diverse clients and diverse expertise. I am finding that my legal practice and experience is expanding rapidly to include family law, employment law and other areas of civil litigation. I am finding that I have a particular interest in assisting clients involved in matters where they are accused of a crime related to family law, such as Domestic Violence Criminal Charges or Civil Protection Orders. These issues often arise in divorce or child custody disputes. These issues also can have a strong negative impact on employment, and must be carefully handled to protect my clients. My practice takes me to all of the District Courts in Snohomish County and North King County.

I was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2007, to the U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington 2010, and I am a member of the Snohomish County Bar Association, the King County Bar Association, the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Washington State Association for Justice. I volunteer at the Snohomish County Legal Services Family Law Clinic.

When I am not practicing law, I have a lot of fun playing baseball in the Puget Sound Senior Baseball League, skiing, golfing and enjoying time with Bailey, my rescue dog of uncertain parentage.

I enjoy meeting new clients, and if you have a problem that you think I might be able to help you with, please give me a call or email me cstahnke@denomillikan.com to set up an appointment. If your problem is not in my area of expertise, I will make sure that it gets transferred to another attorney in the office. I look forward to meeting you.
